SPB Shell 3D For Android Gets An Update. Adds Widget Placement, Live Wallpaper and A 3D Birthday Widget

SPB Shell 3D for Android has recently received an update adding support for the following:  Free widget placement, support for Live Wallpaper and also throws in a 3D birthday/anniversary widget.  We previously gave the app a look over back in April and was overall impressed with it.  It was a great alternative to devices that were still sporting an older version of Android or a less than par UI (cough cough…Motoblur).  Well, SPB isn’t stopping there.  They have further enhanced their app with version 1.1 by adding some of the above user requested features along with a faster and smoother UI, better memory consumption and more stability.

‘Android Eats Apple’ Wallpaper Download

At the Google I/O developer conference earlier this week, Google poked a little fun at Apple on its big screen during the first day’s keynote. They showed an illustration of the Android robot happily eating an apple, which had many folks not only thinking it was funny but wanting it as a wallpaper. Thanks to the original artist, it is now available.

The artist behind the ‘Android Eats Apple’ illustration is Fraser Ntukula, who tweeted the original image that’s been hosted at DeviantArt. You can go view it here. The original, however, has the text “Not evil, just hungry” scrawled out below the illustration, which was noticeably cut out from the one shown at Google’s developer conference.

Be Wowed By Shadow Galaxy Live Wallpaper For Android

One of the better Live Wallpapers I’ve seen to pass through the market has definitely got to be Shadow Galaxy by developer maxelus.net.  We’ve seen a few Live Wallpapers from this developer before  and it looks like they are showing no signs of slowing down when it comes to innovation.  If you’re a Live Wallpaper buff, then this one has definitely got to make it onto your device and into a “this is freaking cool” folder.  Once activated, your desktop is immediately hurled into outer space where you’ll be lightly swirling through a vortex of galaxies along with distant shadows of bits and pieces of debris and planets everywhere.  It doesn’t get any cooler than this one folks.  The only thing that would make this wallpaper even more of a hit would have been to add some interactive functionality or some settings for speed etc.  Otherwise, this is sure to appeal to everyone and definitely something to show off to your non smartphone buddies.  Hit the break for some more pics of the app and to snag the QR code for the download.  Follow the market link for a video demo of the app in action.  Feel free to plug away in the comments below.

Download: Galaxy S II Live Wallpapers

The Galaxy S II has been in the hands of quite a few folks outside of Samsung now and you had to guess that a system dump would be in the pipeline. We don’t get the full plate of things such as ringtones and static wallpapers, but we do get several very nice live wallpapers from the device.
Rawat from XDA has them here, and you should already know what to do with them after you download them. (Just make sure you enable third-party application installs in Settings > Applications.)
