Barnes & Noble Reaches 1 Million Downloads In The Nook App Store



Several weeks back, the most famous tablet/eReader of them all, the Barnes & Noble Nook Color, received a rather significant update, giving the popular tab Froyo 2.2, flash support on the web, and email functionality along with the very necessary Nook Apps Store.  Well, to answer the question “was it successful?” respectfully draws in a resounding, fist pumping yes.  Barnes & Noble today reported that the app store has officially reached 1 million downloads for the popular service.  That’s a boatload of downloads in just three weeks.  Per the press release, the top five paid apps downloaded were Angy Birds, Drawing Pad, Solitaire, Aces Jewel Hunt and Astraware Mahjong.  The top five free applications downloaded were Fliq Calendar, Fliq Notes, Pulse, Nook Word of the Day and Fliq Tasks.  So, there you have it folks, the scrappy Nook Color has done it again.  Let us know what you think of it all in the comments below.  Hit the break for the full press release.
